Why we built here

Lake Barron has been a family secret for several generations. Not the kind of lake you find by Googling 'chalet for rent Laurentians.' Deep (33.9 m max), navigable but uncrowded, surrounded by discreet properties — exactly the opposite of the tourist hustle of the bigger Laurentian lakes.

When we decided to build Barron Lakehouse in 2024, the idea was simple: a chalet combining what's often missing in short-term rentals — a real office for remote work, a private dock with direct lake access, four-season hot tub, kitchen for 14, and 1 Gbps fibre so nobody has to choose between vacation and work.

Construction finished 2025. First renter summer 2026. The goal: every family or group that stays leaves with the impression they found a place, not an Airbnb.

The owner

Frederick Proulx

Born and raised in the Laurentians. Tech entrepreneur by day (Boostmoi, AI platforms), outdoor enthusiast the rest of the time. Lake Barron is where I disconnect myself when I need to breathe.

I personally manage the rentals — no property management between you and me. 24 h max email response. If you rent for a month, we always have a coffee (or a call) before signing.

Our commitments

  • Honesty about what we offer. No retouched photos, no embellished descriptions. The chalet is exactly what's shown.
  • Direct communication. No bot, no call center. You write, I reply. No copy-paste pre-written answers.
  • Respect for the property and the lake. Lake Barron is fragile. No high-power motors, dock access respected, waste managed.
  • Reasonable flexibility. Cancellation 60+ days before: full refund. Force majeure (bereavement, medical emergency): we discuss.
  • Local reinvestment. When we replace equipment, we buy in Lachute, Saint-Sauveur, Morin-Heights
