How do I pay?

By Interac e-Transfer. 50% at contract signing (in person), balance 30 days before arrival. A $2,000 security is paid by separate Interac and returned within 7 days after departure if all is in order.

How many guests can stay?

8 adults and 6 children in family configuration; 6 to 9 in remote-work configuration (one bedroom is converted into an office).

Are pets allowed?

No. The house is set up not to accommodate pets.

Is smoking allowed?

No indoors. Outside only, more than 5 metres from the house.

Is Lake Barron truly navigable?

Yes. Lake Barron allows electric and low-power gasoline motorboats. The chalet has a private dock providing direct lake access.

Can I bring my own boat?

Yes, with prior declaration and approval. Boats accepted: pontoon with motor ≤ 60 HP, rowboat, kayak, canoe, paddleboard, pedal boat, unmasted sailboat. Boats refused: any wakeboard, wakesurf, or water-ski boat with ballast (shoreline erosion and sediment churn), personal watercraft (Sea-Doo, jet ski), any motor exceeding 60 HP. Conditions: mandatory declaration at booking (type, length, motor, photos on request); valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) — federal Transport Canada requirement; renter personal liability insurance (the chalet contract does not cover guest boats); attested cleaning, draining, and drying since last use on another body of water (Quebec law — zebra mussels, Eurasian watermilfoil); maximum 10 km/h within 30 m of shore (federal regulation); no motor before 9 AM or after 9 PM; only one motorized boat docked at a time; no fuelling at the dock; no overnight occupancy on board; no commercial activity (fishing tournaments, third-party rentals). Any damage to the dock, lake bed, or third party is the renter's responsibility and may be deducted from the $2,000 security deposit, or billed separately.

About 55 minutes by car via Highway 15 and Route 327.

Is there internet?

1 Gbps fibre Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, throughout the house. Ideal for remote work.

What is the cancellation policy?

More than 60 days before arrival: 100% deposit refunded. Between 30 and 60 days: 50%. Less than 30 days: non-refundable, except documented force majeure.

Are linens and towels included?

Yes. Full linens and towels for 14 guests included; extras on request.

Is the property ploughed in winter?

Yes, snow removal is included. Parking and access to the house are maintained.

How do I get to the house?

288 chemin Cambria, Gore (Quebec). GPS works; detailed directions sent before arrival.

Where to do groceries?

Lachute (20 min) or Morin Heights (15 min) have full grocery stores. Summer farmers market in Morin Heights.

What does the rental include?

Turn-key chalet: fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels for 14, indoor gas fireplace, four-season hot tub, propane BBQ, outdoor kitchen, snow removal, 1 Gbps fibre Wi-Fi, central A/C, private dock with lake access. Bring just your suitcases and groceries.

Can I host a party or event?

Stays are intended for families and small groups. No commercial parties, weddings, or loud events — out of respect for neighbours. Family gatherings and modest celebrations (birthday, retreat) are welcome.

Is the availability calendar up to date?

Yes. The calendar auto-syncs every 30 minutes with Airbnb bookings and my personal calendar. If a date shows available, it is available.
