Mont-Tremblant from Lake Barron: the perfect day trip

Mont-Tremblant is the Laurentian tourism icon — ski resort in winter, full resort in summer. From Lake Barron in Gore, it's 60 minutes — ideal for a day trip without paying Tremblant hotel rates.

Optimal route

Gore → Route 327 N to Lachute → Autoroute 50 W to Mont-Laurier → Autoroute 117 N → Tremblant. 60 minutes. Leave 8:30-9 AM for full day.

Summer (June-September)

  • Panoramic gondola to summit (~$40/adult)
  • Mont-Tremblant National Park hiking
  • Mountain biking
  • ZipTrek Ecotours zipline (~$120)
  • Lake Tremblant beach
  • Pedestrian village shopping/dining

Winter (December-April)

  • Alpine skiing — Quebec's biggest (96 runs, 645 m vertical)
  • Day pass ~$120-140 high season
  • Night skiing select days
  • Tubing at Domaine Saint-Bernard (10 min away)

Year-round

  • Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant (~$70)
  • Aux Truffes (fine dining), Pizzateria (casual)

Avoiding crowds

Visit weekdays. Early arrival (before 10) or late (after 14). Shoulder seasons (Sept, April). Or use closer alternatives like Sommet Saint-Sauveur.

Why not sleep at Tremblant

Lodging is 2-4× more expensive than Gore for equivalent comfort. Day-trip from Lake Barron + return to your private spa = best of both worlds.
